‘The President is Now a King Above the Law’

So says Justice Sotomajor. History agrees.

In 1857, Chief Justice Roger Taney wrote in the Dred Scott case that human beings were just property. Not since that terrifying and horrible decision by the Supreme Court has there been such a destructive decision. The Dred Scott case only destroyed the humanity of slaves. John Roberts wrote the epitaph for the United States and democracy. In a dissenting opinion, Justice Sotomajor wrote,

    Orders the Navy’s Seal Team 6 to assassinate a political rival? Immune.

   Organizes a military coup to hold onto power? Immune.

   Takes a bribe in exchange for a pardon? Immune.

   Immune, immune, immune.

    Let the President violate the law, let him exploit the trappings of his office for personal gain, let him use his official power for evil ends. Because if he knew that he may one day face liability for breaking the law, he might not be as bold and fearless as we would like him to be. That is the majority’s message today.

We Dare Not Let Trump Hold the Power of the Presidency Again.

The Surpreme Court has opened the door to unlimited corruption just like the German Paliament did in 1933 for Adolf Hitler. Trump will walk through that door just as Hitler did in 1934. Hitler murdered a hand-picked selection of anyone who posed any threat to his grip on power. He ordered his assassins to murder Ernst Röhm, the head of the Sturmabteilung (SA) so the SA could not be used against him. Gregor Strasser, the second highest Nazi official, essentially the Vice President at the time, was shot in his prison cell and bled to death on the floor. Mike Pence should take this as a warning.

Hitler had never held power like Trump has. After the German Parliament handed it to him, it took a year for Hitler to use it. Trump has had four years to learn how. He has told us publicly that he will be a dictator from his first day in office. Trump has bragged that he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue in New York and get away with it. If he holds the power of the Presidency again, that prediction could come true.

We Dare Not Let Trump Hold the Power of the Presidency Again.

What HAS happened, CAN happen.

  1. I agree. We must find a way to prevent him from being president. Voting is the only way I know to do it legally. I thought 34 (unanimous) felony votes would do it.

    1. Hitler only gained more power when he was sent to prison for trying to overthrow the German government in 1923. Only the power of overwhelming democratic defeat will stop Trump.
