We’re going to see a new variation!

Watching the news this morning …

Trump often evades any responsibility for anything by simply blaming somebody else. The Democrats did it. The judge did it. Sometimes he even blames the Republicans that he relies on to prop him up. (And he gets away with it! — the sniveling cowards.) I think I detected a new twist in the blame game that I haven’t seen anyone else mention.

Republicans have suffered loss over loss on the abortion issue. And Trump was for abortion before he was against it before he was for it again. But his most recent dodge was to say that he will have a definitive statement “next week”.

A lot of the talking heads simply admit that they have no idea because Trump is caught between a loss and a hard right and any answer he gives will cost him support. The only sure thing is that it’s not his fault that he’s waffled all over about it. If you don’t believe it, just ask him and he’ll reassure you that he didn’t say what he said.

So, what is Trump up to?

Another consistent tactic is to delay. To rephrase the tax dodger rule: “Blame delayed is blame avoided.” That’s the first part to expect. But the media has their teeth into this one so they’ll be asking him if it’s “next week” yet. It will be hard for Trump to keep insisting that “next week” means “next week” no matter how many weeks have passed. Not impossible, but a difficulty best avoided.

I believe Trump does have a “Plan B” for this.

If a traditional politician said “next week”, then the translation into English would be, “I have some spin doctors working on it. I’ll mouth their words when they have some words figured out.” Trump has squirmed through the cess pool with them long enough now to have learned some of their ways and this is one of them. So, he probably does have a team of spin doctors working on it.

A-HAH! Somebody else to blame! Stand whatever patsy he hired (but hasn’t paid yet) up against the wall and have that guy mouth the words. Then throw him under under the subway train. (Throwing people under a bus is so “yesterday”.) Trump will tell everybody that the patsy got it wrong and he’s being misquoted and persecuted again!

It will be like throwing a steak to a guard dog. The media will immediately turn and chase that as the new issue. Will anybody even remember that Trump STILL hasn’t said whether he is now for what he was against.

Trump is the most skilled word weasel the world has seen.
