Speaking to a crowd in Ohio, Trump predicted that if Biden won the election, it would be the last election in the United States. The possibility of the 2024 election being the last one could well be true. But it would happen only if Trump was elected, not Biden.

Trump’s statement is a classical example of a technique psychologists call “projection” – When someone accuses others of doing something that they are actually doing. Freud described the condition as a psychological illness, but Joseph Goebbels, Hitler’s propaganda genius, turned it into a weapon. WW II started when Hitler invaded Poland. Goebbels justified the invasion by claiming that Poland was going to invade Germany. The only ones who believed the lie were the German people. But then, they were the only ones who needed to believe it. Putin has accused the West of meddling in the Russian election. The Russian people are the only ones that Putin needs to believe that. Well … Maybe MAGA people too.
